May in Snapshots

I love this project! Every month I get to see the progress in my life. the people that are close to me and all the fun activities that happened.
This month I ate A LOT of ice cream, the weather was so delightful we went to the beach and I realized I am having a quarter life crisis...that is why the last day of this month has a big 25! it has been harder than I thought to let go of my beloved 25 years and turn 26, but I am excited.
Here is April

Beach Time

Imperial Beach, CA
Beach outfit.
walking with my husband!
Imperial Beach, CA.
I am happy to live in SD but the sign on the left kind of makes me nervous!
This address fish is pretty clever

Today, my husband and I ventured ourselves with my camera to Imperial Beach. We spent the evening walkin around, taking pictures and enjoying the view. We had lunch over there and walked a lot. But we had fun! My face is a little red from not wearing sunblock, I don't know what I was thinking, but I did not get burned.
I love going to the beach and looking at the palm trees they are so tall and beautiful!
We got our feet wet in the ocean, walked around the pier and the main avenue. It was relaxing.
The weather in San Diego was just delightful, it felt like a nice summer day in paradise. I have lived in SD for about 10 years now and I had never notices the installation that says ART, hahahha it is pretty neat.

Our theme was "The Beach" in order to kick off our upcoming summer events
and of course Mayra & I could not resist taking some pictures with our beach props!!!
Can't wait for next month, as we will be hosting a girl's Spa night! I am so excited.

Birthday & Brunch

Today we celebrated my brother's birthday. We met up for brunch and had way too much to eat and way too many laughs.
As soon as May hits it is celebration after celebration with us. We had mother's day, Pako's birthday then June comes we celebrate my mom's birthday, my birthday, father's day. In July we celebrate our first year anniversary!! So I am excited for this summer it is gonna be a fun one.
It's funny to see pictures and have people comment that we look so much alike, specially me & Abraham or me & my mom! I do see why they say that but I guess just because I see them so often I don't see it that much! but I take it as a compliment, because I would not mind looking like my mom does when I am older.
It was a great morning celebration! All you can Eat, All you can laugh! and ICE CREAM! hahahaha who doesn't like that.

Now we are home getting ready for our youth group. Tonight we have our last Spring service @TheCity so we are excited for that as well. Will post pictures soon!

Let's Celebrate

Who can find a virtuose woman? She is worth more than jewels. -Proverbs 31:10

Yesterday we celebrated mother's day with my family. Even though mexican mother's day was May 10 it was another excuse to celebrate again!
My mom is a great  woman of God and we are happy to have her with us. It is nice to reciprocate a little bit of all the love she has given us all these years.
It was a fun time with my parents, brothers and my husband. Great food, and we watched two of her favorite movies. Definitely a day to remember.
My in laws were out of town for a mission trip but I also want to say that my mother in law has been a great example to me, of how to be a loving wife, mother and friend. I have nothing but good things to say about her.
So Happy mother's day to all the hardworking moms, specially in my family.

Grateful

My heart is overwhelmed. I am so grateful to have my husband and to be able to share with him the little things, the big things, the good and the not so good. But above all to have someone who continues to challenge me in my walk with God and who models what it is to put God first.
This video was just a little reminder of what are the things that truly matter and If God is with us who can be against us. Romans 8:31

Have a Good day friends!

Japanese Friendship Garden

Yesterday I had the day off from school and my husband didn't work, so we ventured ourselves to the Japanese Friendship garden at Balboa Park because 1) I had to write a reflection paper for one of my classes and 2) because it was a beautiful day to walk around the park.
I love Bonsai trees

I am not gonna lie, whenever I HAVE to go somewhere it is like...hmmmm I don't really wanna go, this time I had to go to the Japanese garden for my Art of China class and write a paper and I was not very excited, but my husband agreed to come with me and he told me we could even take the camera and take some pictures.

Once I was there my whole attitude changed, I had never been drawn to the Japanese garden before, I had walked by it and that was it...but this time we went inside and it was wonderful.

Growing up my dad was always telling stories about history and specially about Japan, China and all of that, and we watched The Karate Kid over and over!!!! all of them! and going there brought back so many childhood memories that on our way back home I had to call my dad and told hin we should go visit the Japanese garden together.

It was a great day over all.
