Happy Trails

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were on our way to the mall to find a gift for my mother in law's birthday (that explains our non outdoorsy attire) and on our way over we saw a sign where we had never seen anything and it was a hiking trail, my husband decided to pull over and we decided to explore the place.
We were in awe of how beautiful it was everywhere we went was picture worthy and it got better with every step.
My husband has never been a fan of hikes or nature walks or anything other than beach or body boarding but this was a life changing experience, he now owns a bike so he can go ride it here and he is open to going hiking with me to new places, I am so excited for this!
Happy Trails for the both of us.

a Cupcake tradition

Ever since we met, my friend Mayra and I have bonded over JUNK FOOD
I know, sad but true one of my guilty pleasures is anything that is junk I love and so does she, even though I try to eat healthy and avoid it I have to give in sometimes.
We have a tradition where we take each other out for our birthday and try a new cupcake place together and I must say it is a pretty sweet tradition!
This year I took her to Sprinkles for her birthday and as we were so excited to have our cupcake we also found some cute little shops around there an decided to go in and explore.
We found a little store where they have everything for scrap booking, awesome papers and cards and it was just DIY heaven!
Can't wait for June so we can try another cupcake place together for my birthday!

boys & piñatas

Our friends' kids had a birthday party and here it is what went down

Piñatas are a lot of fun, it doesn't matter how old are you hitting a piñata and getting all the candy out is always a delight.
Our friends have two boys and this year they decided to combine their birthdays and we had a lot of fun celebrating with them.
My husband was helping out getting the piñatas ready and of course he had to be on the roof.
Some of my best memories as a child is seeing my dad on the roof holding the piñata with my uncles and seeing how much joy it brought to them moving them up and down and making us work for it was awesome and now seeing my husband do the same for our friends' kids and in the future for our kids makes me remember my childhood.
Anyways the party was great, my friend Tasha made a delicious cake and we always have a blast hanging out with them.

Family Fun

My first day of Spring Break I spent it with my family who came to visit from Mexicali.
I had the opportunity to do my cousin's quinceañera's photo shoot so we were all over the place looking for locations, taking pictures and having fun.
We couldn't go home without paying a visit to the mall and having some coffee with my mom and aunt while everyone else was still shopping.
Can't wait for my cousin's party next month, i get to visit and stay over for the weekend.
Great start of the week.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was the cherry on top for the month of March. We remembered the death and  celebrated the resurrection of our savior.
We worshiped together and had the 3 crosses performance about the last hours of Jesus on the cross with the 2 thieves. Yes they are on 3 giant crosses, No they are not nailed to them.... The guys at the church did a phenomenal job getting all the production ready, from the scripts to the media to the scenography.

Easter Egg Hunt

Just some of the volunteers that day
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt was off the hook! we had over 22,000 people came and had a blast! All of our preparation and hard work payed off.
Loved capturing a picture of my husband with his blue bunny ears!!! he is adorable, and maybe I am bias but he is a great emcee I love serving alongside with him.
Nothing like a day of giving back to the community with my husband and our church family.
Next year will be even grater.

pastel colors & tissue paper...

Prepping for the Easter Egg Hunt deserves it's own post because I love all of this colors.
I had an amazing time with my Friend Mayra getting everything ready for the backdrop, which at the end it didn't turn out to be so great because it was really windy that morning and it ended up being kind of small but thats what happens when you try to wing it and don't really know exactly where it is going to be up, but it turned out great in my opinion for the budget we had.

Taking a break...

It has been awfully quiet around here lately. I took some time off during Spring break to work on a personal project that I will be posting about soon, and also to rest and recharge my creativity and inspiration.
I've experienced a little bit of "creativity block" and decided to take a little vacation from it and expose myself to new ideas, new dreams, and my perspective about things and situations has changed and I am very excited to start again.
The moments when you feel you are living and getting the things done that you need to get done gets old and they don't bring excitement and a sense of fulfilling anymore, so when you step back a little to appreciate the bigger picture you gain a fresh perspective and it becomes easier to take risks and discover new destinations with a smile on your face.
Back in a tick!

March in Snapshots

Here is March AKA Easter Madness!!! while we were getting ready for Easter weekend almost every day of the month we also had some other events that made this month special.
